Maulusc, formerly named Giant Slug (often formatted as GiantSlug), is a basic, yellow slug monster featured in some of the Dragon Quest titles. It first appears in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, as one of the first enemies encountered. Mauluscs have spots all over their body and a slobbering tongue (often green in color). Maulusc is part of the Bug family. Its name could possibly be a play on the word "mollusk."
- Dragon Warrior I & II Prima's Official Strategy Guide (page 93): "These slugs are a breeze even at the beginning of the game. In fact, they're only a threat to very low-level warriors and, even then, usually only in groups."
